The Christian right is obsessed with gay people. In his latest video, Pastor James David “Nutjob” Manning warns that Starbucks is “ground zero” for the transmission of Ebola. Why, you ask? Manning says;
“Because of the clientele. Generally upscale sodomites who sit there with their computers, it’s a meeting place, they exchange a lot of body fluids. Especially the Starbucks in the urban areas… a large number of the sodomites and the LGBT crowd that usually and continue to approach the idea of sex and intercourse and dating on a lower, less-visible, less social scale because of the nature [of] what they want to do and who they are, the reason why they’re fighting so hard to get public recognition and legality of what they’re doing so they don’t have to stoop to dark-alley measures that [they] have to seek after for having sex.”
Okaaayy. Then, Manning attacks the Doctors Without Borders doctor, Craig Spencer, who tested positive for Ebola in New York City. (but he mentions nothing about The High Line, bowling or meatballs…?) And, of course, he claims Obama is gay. He ends his tirade with a warning to Harlem’s young men saying they should stop accepting gifts like sneakers from older gay men who want “special favors”, because, he says, you don’t want to give your mother Ebola. (Damn. He’s onto us!) It might make you mad, if it wasn’t SO funny… SNL, are you watching this? And have YOU seen Adore Delano & Bianca del Rio’s Starbucks ad, Pastor Manning?
